How many 2.8 V6 Primatists were made? IIRC only one with the interior colours reversed. Could be that this one is a 2.0 V6 and the site doesn’t recognise non 2.8 Ghiblis (IIRC aside from some Cups perhaps, Japan only got 2.8s)...
Thanks for the clarification - there are a few Cups in Japan that may or may not be 2.0-litres hence the confusionThere were no 2.8 Primatists made. whole point of them was to celebrate the world speed record on water which used a marinised derivative of the Ghibli Cup engine which was a 2 litre.
The 2.8 litre car which has the reversed colour scheme was a special factory order in a similar colour scheme but it was not one of the official 35 or so factory Primatists made. That particular car was also specified with automatic transmission.
The Japanese car in question is a genuine Primatist and is therefore a 2 litre. You can tell this by looking at the cam covers, a 2 litre doesn’t have the engine size written on them whereas the 2.8 has 2800 written on them. That car is likely to be a Personal import as the Primatist was officially an Italian domestic market version. Officially 2 litre cars were not sold in Japan as the engine size was considered too small for a luxury/high performance car, hence the Japanese version of the Cup being a 2.8.
This model was created to celebrate the world km water speed record, set on 4th November 1996 on Lugano lake by the pilot * Cappellini on a carbon fibre boat powered by two litre Maserati engine, based on the Ghibli engine.

Has anyone heard of Cedfred? I've dropped him a PM but if anyone knows him personally it would be great to have the entire set of Ghibli IIs for what I have planned...There was the one from the Classic Cars article but that was over 15 years ago (how time flies it seems like only a year or two ago)
