First i must say im a little gutted , no thats a lie, im really gutted, not at the time wasting thats par for the course , as one does i'd stayed up to the very late hours reading up model against model variations, feel i already know them backwards, so was getting a bit excited before i left to go and view .
In the previous 24 hours the idea had really grown on me , infact the mind was working overtime and it was already sitting on the drive beside the other two, night before i had already made the list of people to ring as soon as i had parted with my cash First was Marios ,then numerous mails to Enricos, it was all rushing backwards and forwards and a good plan was formulating .
Warmed the GS up and stuck me bits and pieces in the car , sun was shining so i donned the shades as i set off down the A5 towards Leighton Buzzard, Boy did i feel cool mmm life was good i thought , turned on my favourite Birds album and was singing along with Mr Tambourine Man at 90 mph at the top of my voice, things dont get better, already anticipated the haggling session along with the mandatory persuasive cash waving end to a perfect day would be to get it for a song i was thinking
Eventually got through the Aylesbury traffic , and onto the small village of Ford , found the country lane turning , and proceeded to turn into the allotted farm, Very posh i thought , all sorts was now whizzing in and out of my brain ,ex rich whizz kids car or aristocratic heritage so now my adrenaline was really pumping , ME im the lucky one the original barn find
and so truly deserved , after all my years of Maserati worship and dedication i was being rewarded , a farm hand directed me to where they had already been told to direct me, made me feel important for a change .
As i drew nearer and nearer all the good feelings started to wayne untill i was presented with this

Wasn't a straight panel on the car , dry storage my ....se, rust had well and truly got hold of this beauty, not just externally but internally aswell , all the switch gear needed replacing, floor pans shot front screen had been bodged in rear screen shattered by the mushroom shed owner for non payment of rent along with a few axe marks in the body work, front valance bent beyond recognition It had been semi dismantled so one could never be sure what was missing engine was somewhere else but had been cleaned apparently but the heads were off and re painted with hammerite eek
After the tears were wiped away , i was just stunned how anybody could let such a beautiful rarity go to such waste and paint the bloody thing with DULUX beggars belief
Oh well the journey continues
regards loz
