Maserati Insurance

If all this worries you, skip buying a Maserati. Either insure it with good cover through a specialist on an agreed value basis and bodywork repairs through a marque specialist or insure via comparison site on market value basis.

It ain't worth the worry. Just skip and look at something else where the insurance is in line with what you want to pay.
Doesn't worry me enough to not experience the Marque for once in my life - a case of ticking the bucket list before kicking the bucket !!

The whole insurance cartel racket will only stop when legislation is introduced to prevent ‘unreasonable’ premiums.

Tried comparison websites for my 4200 (as I assumed auto renewal could easily be beaten), all coming out at £400+.

Churchill renewal - £303. Although I think I was spoilt by last years £237 premium.

Mine went from £200 to £1200 with Swindon. That was cancelled and now I’m with Saga (getting old) and back to the £200 mark.
It’s incredible that they try to get away with such an increase.

I've just renewed the race car with the Maserati owners club Lockton policy as they offer a decent agreed value policy. As the car is for sale, I limited the mileage to just 500 (I used to have it at 2,000 miles) but the premium was just £430 which I thought was excellent for a specialised car. They're worth a call if anyone is struggling to find a good price

My insurance is due for renewal in about 5 weeks, but last month with everyone talking about how it was going up, I quickly looked at my stored details on Confused.com and saw that it was coming in just slightly less than last year. Just looked again today, without changing any details and it was twice the price. Gone onto Moneysupermarket and it is substantially less than last year.

Not sure if confused.com have lost the ability to quote some companies as none of the big names were coming up? Definitely worth getting as many quotes from different places as possible as it has all gone a little mad.

*Upon more investigation, I've realised that the Moneysupermarket quote was in my wife's name. When I looked at insuring the car in her name last year it was more expensive than in mine. Now nearly half the price. They just make it up as they go.

Sorry, for me they sucked on so many different levels

I did my renewal at the start of the month.
Say you don't want my business without saying you don't want my business...

Renewal Price: £1127.05
Last year's total: £234.26

I settled on £186 via confused.com with £20 Justeat voucher and 1 free hot drink per month for a year at Greggs (which seemed like an odd thing to get with car insurance!)
That's for 3k miles.

I have used A Plan (Thatcham office) for years who appear to be specialist- always been competitive- quality cover and you deal with real people who actually answer the phone.

Another thumbs up for A-Plan in Thatcham. Top people, and very helpful.

I never heard of A plan insurance and they never showed up on Google search

I insured a previous Mas with the Thatcham branch and was very impressed with them, but on a subsequent renewal (with no change of cover or circumstance) they declined to quote and passed me to a local branch which was about as much use as.......
A-Plan is now running under the Howden banner:

Last week I added the Peugeot 304 Cabrio to my policy. £50 for the year, fully comp, including the admin fee.

Across the fleet, it averages at about £200 per car (even including the Rangie, which if you choose to believe internet nonsense, is all but uninsurable). I’m with Chubb.
