On that as well as a result of loosely surfaced French roads. Spoke to Aviva yesterday who confirmed that if I wanted to get it fitted by someone other than their approved replacer then they would contribute the princely sum of £110 to the cost! Autoglass it is then. They said that they don't have any in stock (not surprisingly) and would replace it when they got one. A bit of digging on my part revealed UK availability (I'm not saying where to allow Autoglass to catch up) so I've rung them back and am currently waiting for them to put 2 and 2 together to get to the same conclusion as me!

I had windscreen go on the old car as a result of a stone chip in the bonding turning into a crack which is the same as happened this time. Is this common?

I think that's a standard answer, Dave. If you can track one down at a main dealer then you should be able to persuade Autoglass that the MD should do it and that Autoglass should pay the full amount (minus your usual more modest excess). Worth a spin. Bon chance!

Morning.

Dave, marathon hedge cutting here too it’s gone mental.

Hard boxing class tonight that I’m not looking forward to. The instructor used to train the Somalian Army.

Morning, lovely people. Still wonkered post-Le Mans.

Some work this morning, but mostly I'll be doing my damnedest to take the day off. Need to get the Vantage's front wheels balanced this morning, wash it ready for a prom this evening and demonstrate to Mrs Crud that any perceptions of me being either never here or always working are not strictly true.

Do we have two birthdays on the forum? - Newton and l'homme de chat?

Morning,

No work today, though I checked up on some stuff from yesterday this morning. Weather looks great so its out for a haircut and then lunch somewhere and possibly a drive around North Yorks somewhere.

Have a great day all

Happy Birthday Chris and Newton (and anyone else who's birthday it is).

Office for the morning then off to London for a big meeting. Then out with Alex tonight for something to eat and the cinema.
Date night!

Wheels balanced. The RHS had thrown a weight somewhere in France, now sorted. Home, some work stuff to sign and then a day of tomfoolery awaits. Prom run then pub tonight - the youngest lad finishes his last A-level today so we’ll take him out for a spot of scoff. I feel old.

Good day all, well after the sh1t news earlier in the week - had some good news, the boy got a 2:1 for his degree, pulled up by his project and dissertation which were apparently " outstanding ". Not too bad for a kid with dyslexia and dyspraxia, His English teacher at secondary told him he would never achieve anything, so it looks like a Masters in Forensic accounting beckons....

I only ever wanted to be a footballer or a mechanic.....lol...did neither
