Cold Start Up

Hi all, a short clip of my cold start problem (more of a nuisance). Skip to around 50secs in. The car has only just started doing this but still drives fine with no cel/codes or anything, just sharing to see if this behaviour is familiar to anyone?.

Just does it on cold start Dave, if I load the engine by putting it in drive it doesn't do it. Its not something that's been gradually happening, did it one day last week and been the same since. After the 3 or 4 blips @ around 1500 the revs settle down to around 1100 right after.
Thanks

Never had this on mine. Have you tried a throttle reset, though I doubt it will help, but one thing eliminated.

Yeah , did the throttle reset to no avail, seem's to happen after about a minute when it tries to drop the rev's down from fast idle.
Thanks

I had similar ,some start up straight round to 1500rpm, selecting D it dropped to 1000rpm had TB done and all ok. A problem I have now from cold start, engine turns for 2/3 start-ups with nothing, then next attempt it fires, rest of day fine even if its left for long period, any ideas on that one ?

Maybe time to have the tb looked at, it has a sacer cap on the one side already but I'm not convinced.

How about the water temp sender starting to go tit's up, It's the only voltage the engine ECU sees on a start from cold

Thanks for that, contacted Euro spares and they no longer have them in stock, found one on eBay in Germany £36 + £15 postage, Euro spares price £5.88. (supply & demand) Would a universal after market one work ? If £50 keeps it on the road it could be worse.

No its a 3200 I want it for, I have an Alfa 916 Spider that I've owned for 10 years and that's where Lusso 916 came from, email is roberttifosi & my wife's car a Fiat 500, so no hope for me

My car does this occasionally, and indeed if you shut it down and start it again its fine, not errors and no weird driving behaviour. I have noticed pedal sensor calibration affects this some times, but its hard to get the car to do it twice without changing anything so its really hard to tell if you have fixed it. I suspect its the early stages of a sticking throttle body. I have been ignoring this for some time, i also notice if its not been driven its more likely to do this, which also adds to my thought that its the Throttle body sticking. I decided the cure is clearly to drive it more :)

And remember to floor it occasionally to keep it in calibration :)

T.B done Maserati shed, battery off 2 hrs, throttle reset, start & tick over know 12-1500rpm then slowly picks up speed as it gets warm, out of drive & tick over rises to 2-3000rpm.
